May Update in June - Some Good News and Some Okay News!

Hello everyone! As per usual, here is the monthly update on the Kickstarter. We do have a couple of things to overview so bear with us a little!
The Good News
So, the good news is: we caught back on all the work we had to start over, which means we can now finally proceed into finalizing the book! While we wanna stay transparent about the fact that the game will be delayed, we are pretty happy about it. This means that a complete, digital, early version will be possible around the end of summer!
The Okay News!
So there was a good news, and an okay news. The okay news is that we will be ready to charge and lock orders from the Backerkit on June 20th. This means that you have until that date (and maybe after a little bit depending on how Backerkit handles it) to change your order, address, credit card information or add items if you want some more. Shipping costs will also be adjusted according to the perfect cost, and fulfillment will be handled with DTRPG.
While we got good news for a dedicated printer, paper shortage and prices creeping up makes it more difficult to order from them with 4 different book version (2 languages, softcover and hardcover). With print on demand, we will have more control on what we can print, and the cost price will not vary as much depending on the number of books. We will take care of all logistics and add-ons will be sent along without worries.
OneLast Important News!
As a team with an ambitious project, we've had some highs and lows, but one thing is certain: our artists are an amazing part of the team, and we love them very much. Through the whole process of illustrating this book, we were able to see them grow, grow more and even find themselves contracts with cool companies.
Covid was hard on them, they prevailed, but even then, we had to say goodbye to one of our artists that also became our friend: Stefano Andrieri. Stefano did such an amazing job on the project, illustrating more than 30 characters by himself, which is completely crazy. His passion and personality brought forward so many unique looks to our characters, and we are so very glad to have had him on the team. With a lot of work on his plate, we unfortunately had to part ways, and he didn't want to burn himself out, and we didn't want that either. We wish him the best of luck for his next endeavors, and if the future allows it, we would be so very excited, honored and happy to work with him again!
To tackle on his loss, we have brought forward two new artists that will be taking over the remaining designs: Heidi Pana and Edward Yorke, which are both amazing to work with and will do great work on Arkelon!
We also have a bunch of Illustration previews to show you, as those also progressed a lot in the last month!
Have an awesome day, and an amazing month of June and Happy Pride!
April Update - Trash, Garbage and Other Annoyances
about 1 year ago
– Thu, Apr 21, 2022 at 04:49:24 PM
I hope you are all doing good! You might be wondering why this title and let us explain.
Since the last update our office (and house) has been plagued with frequent power outages (from once per day, to once every 5 seconds). This has started back in January, but wasn’t affecting us that much. While we try to reduce the impact of these as much as we can (thank you APC batteries), it has still made our work painfully slower.
Additionally, two of our artists got Covid, and another got sick in the same time frame, which has also considerably slowed artwork. They are now back on their feet, but it still put some breaks on production.
The fact that a large portion of non-character artwork must be redone completely and some text must be rewritten also plays a very big part into the work delay. We wish to keep the reason behind this out of the public domain for personal reasons, but we can inform some that wish to know more in private.
This brings us to the news we didn’t want to share but have to: these issues might realistically delay the game, especially the physical version. While we really want to keep the initial release date (August 22nd), this might be an impossible task with all the work that we have to redo from scratch.
Now that we got this out there, what is our plan?
We want to minimize the impact of this as much as possible. We will still be releasing a digital version of the book during the summer, with possible missing artwork, but with all of the rules and character choices. This version will be completely playable and very very close to the final book, minus the missing art.
This also brings us to: When will the release be? Well that is the thing, we can’t perfectly say a date, but with the work we have to catch up on, we can say that it will probably, at least, be pushed up to December this year.
This is extremely frustrating to us, as our first impression we’ll give to the gaming world is a delayed project, but we have to make that decision if we want to bring forward the best version of Arkelon Chronicles.
We hope you all continue to take care of yourselves, and we will giving a new update in a couple of weeks to keep you updated.
Special Kickstarter Shout-Out!

Taking a bit of time to shout-out a very cool Kickstarter from our Friends over at Awfully Queer Heroes.
It's a really nice piece of educational content using 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons to teach about ADHD, bringing insight to an often misunderstood condition while also making it fun!
"In the near yet far domain called Lotstoodoo, where things are constantly misplaced, rearranged, reimagined, or downright left to their own magically unregulated existence, something terrible has happened. The Archfey who was master of such a place, is gone. Their one trusted servant will go to great lengths to trick or steal some well-regulated attention so he can restore order to his beloved domain while he waits for the return of the Archfey."
Cool thing, if it reach the next stretch goal, it will be translated in French! (Oui oui, une traduction française complète comme on en voit rarement pour les projets de DnD!)
There's still 13 days left, and a lot of cool things to unlock!
New Update for March!

I hope you are all doing good! It's sometimes a bit difficult to give monthly updates, as sometimes, there isn't much to show, but we still want to keep you updates on everything as much as we can.
We are still at 85% surveys on Backerkit! We have sent a reminder last week, be sure to check your spam folders if you haven't received it and didn't fill out your survey!
We have updated the Pre-Order shop with new visuals for the GM Screen and the new possible prints, as new illustrations came in. You can still modify or add anything to your order until we lock them (we will send a reminder 2 weeks before, then 1 week and 2 days, to be sure you have time to complete your orders).
We are currently at 11/30 to be able to unlock the tutorial adventure for Arkelon Chronicles! If we are unable to unlock it before we lock orders, this will probably be our next project, as we want to offer a simple adventure for everyone to jump into the game, but we still want it to be at the same level of quality than everything else (illustrations, maps, text, etc)! If it doesn't reach it's goal before locking up orders, don't worry, it will be removed from your from your order!
Thank you everyone! Continue being awesome!
Monthly Update: January

We hope you are doing good in these hard times. We got a bit later than usual on this one, but fear not, we are still here, active and working. Most of the text is finished, and we will be updating the Alpha Version with a big chunk of work on February 20th. We are starting to work on revising each races and abilities to be sure that they are interesting enough to matter, despite having a lot of choices.
We currently have 84% completion rate on the survey, which is really good! If you haven't filled yours yet, you still have time! We are still planning on charging and locking orders around May11th, and will be sending a reminder before doing so. We will also add a section on the specifics of traveling, vehicles, social encounters and downtime!
As it is going right now, we are still on track for an August release!
We also received new illustrations, including some of the monsters that will be seen in the book.
That's it for us this month! Continue to take care of yourselves, and see you next month!
